Resident of Hockley since 2000, three grown up children and four grandchildren. Son and daughter-in-law served in the British Army. Oldest daughter works for a Sustainable Energy company in Hertfordshire, youngest daughter is a Head Veterinary Nurse in Danby. I became interested in the Hockley area and decided to join the Hockley Parish council in 2002 form which I served for several years. Whilst I was a Hockley Parish councillor I served as vice-chairman and chairman on many committees and was then appointed chairman for two consecutive years between 2006-2008. My political life as a Rochford District Councillor started when I was elected in June 2004 for the Hockley Central ward and have served that ward since. In May 2016 I was elected as one of three councillors to represent the newly named Hockley and Ashingdon ward. I was also elected as Chairman of Rochford District council in 2016/2017. In 2020 I became Vice chairman of Rochford District council.
In 2017 I won the County seat for the Rochford West Division which incorporates the Hockley and Hullbridge ward. This was a great achievement on my part. Since becoming a County Councillor I have sat on many scrutiny committees including Corporate policy, People & Families, Health Overview plus Places Services and Economic growth. Also involved in the Adoption Panel, Youth Services Panel and Local Highways panel.
