About Me
Lynette is no stranger to local government, having previously been a Councillor on Braintree District Council for some 36 years. During that length of service, she spent her time serving as Chairman of the Council, as well as Chairing both Housing and Community Leisure Committees, and then ultimately becoming the Cabinet Member for Planning and Housing, a role in which she excelled at and thrived on.
As part of the day to day responsibilities of the Councillor role, Lynette is very passionate about her local community and making residents lives better, this is evident in her work involved with various voluntary groups locally. She enjoys spending her time working with the young, elderly, vulnerable as well as those living with dementia in the local community.
She is also currently Vice President of Braintree Mencap, a role which she takes great privilege in, and really enjoys her time working with this special charity, one which she has devoted a lot of her time to support. Lynette is very much a people’s person, and she likes nothing better than helping people, and making a difference to their lives.
She is very proud to have been selected as the Conservative County Council candidate in 2021 for Bocking Division, and is looking forward to immersing herself in the local community to listen to the hopes and concerns of residents, where she will look to support and represent their views at any opportunity she possibly can. As she has been a Councillor on Braintree District Council for over three decades, she is more than aware of the Division and the current challenges it faces, and with that wealth of experience feels she has a head start should she be successful in May 2021.
